Giving Thanks for Everything

At Tios for Hope we have so much to be thankful for— loving and generous sponsors for the children we work with, a wealth of talent and training to share between us and our partners, and many more wonderful things. This year, more than ever, we are thankful for answered prayers. The pandemic provided plenty of opportunity to ask and trust for provision. Every week there was a need for food and the Lord provided exceedingly abundantly more than we could ever ask or imagine. Quite literally, the biggest ask was for a school bus! Many of our children travel long hours to get to school where they can receive food for body, mind, and soul. Even before the pandemic, the children and staff began praying for a school bus. Little by little they were setting money aside for the bus. When the pandemic hit, there were many children whose risk of staying at home was greater than coming to school. The problem was that without the operation of local transportation, extraordinary measures were needed to transport these children. Funds being saved to buy a bus were now going to rent smaller buses to provide transport. Tios for Hope found out about these prayers and the need and went to work. Our executive director learned of grant money from Perimeter Church to address pandemic needs. It seemed a long shot that a bus would qualify for a need, but we received a grant large enough to purchase a bus outright and immediately! Although the kids had been praying for a long time, this video shows them praying over the actual answer to their prayers.
